Hip Hop Highway’

 

The first of its kind show will trace the evolution of Hip Hop in the country

 

MUMBAI and NEW YORK, February 23, 2017 – Saavn and One Digital today continue to amplify their efforts in catapulting India’s burgeoning hip hop story, launching their newest audio show, Hip Hop Highway. In an effort to continue to promote alternative genres and adding to Saavn’s already diverse offering, Saavn Originals announced their partnership with One Digital Entertainment, India’s premiere digital content network today.

 

Hip Hop Highway will have 12 episodes, releasing a 25 to 30 minute episode each Wednesday. Listeners will hear from Indian artists, promoters, labels, producers, and upcoming talent as they discuss all aspects of the hip hop genre. Mixing in-studio sessions and on-site interviews, listeners can expect an authentic, off-the-cuff conversation on the role desi hip hop has come to play in India’s popular culture. The audio show strengthens Saavn’s initiatives in helping build the Hip Hop Movement.

 

Hosted by Raaj Jones, the first episode will feature Indian Rapper Raftaar and British-Indian DJ & Radio presenter Bobby Friction. With Hip Hop Highway, listeners will be privy to a range of conversations, from insights into the evolution of desi hip hop to the international scene, and exclusive unreleased tracks to live performances from their favourite hip hop artists. Week on week, the off-centre yet revolutionary audio show will have various artists including Badshah, Divine and Naezy, among others.

 

Unlike other global markets, India’s uniquely film-centric music scene leaves independent artists with little support and limited opportunities to access larger audiences. As part of their larger objective, Saavn teams up with One Digital Entertainment to access the alternative mediums in which desi hip hop artists often make their debut. Hero Cycles partners Rajastan Government  to promote Clean Air,

Better Health, contributes 100 cycles and propagates GST Status for Bicycles

 

Jaipur, February 7: In its drive to promote healthy living and a better environemt Hero Cycles collaborated with the government of Rajastan and distributed 50 women’s and 50 men’sroadster bicycles. This was to support a rally that saw the 100 + strong team ride from Bikaner to Jodhpur, a distance of about 250 km. The rally was flagged off Shri Arjun Meghwal, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

 

In his address to the gathering, Shri Arjun Meghwal said: “It is commendable that so many people have undertaken this historic ride to prove to the state of Rajasthan and the country that the bicycle is truly the best form of transport. It is the cleanest-energy vehicle that helps reduce our per capita energy consumption and vehicular emissions. In a country that is witnessing an economic transformation cycles plays an integral part to the assist millions in contributing to the overall productivity of one of the largest work forces in the world. We are grateful for ‘Hero Cycles’ participation and their involvement in advocating for cleaner air and better health. We will definitely look into their request for putting the lowest GST slab of 5% on basic bicycles, to ensure maximum people empowered to buy a bicycle.

Today the country faces a huge issue of sustainability and employment, in addition to added disease burden of India and compounded with declining urban penetration of cycles due to unsupportive cycling infrastructure and stagnating rural demand due to the rising prices has had a major slowing down impact. The bicycle industry has been working relentlessly to promote usage of cycles as an eco-friendly, convenient transportation system and also ensuring mobility to millions of poorest poor thereby allowing them a means to livelihood and a better life.

“We are delighted that the government has shown through this rally its commitment to the value of sustainable, active transport. Bicycles rid the environment of particulate pollution and aid in decongestion of our cities. Riding a bicycle brings down carbon footprints dramatically and can offer savings worth several lakh crores per annum by saving on fuel, improving health and incrasing productivity. We urge the government to put in place the lowest GST of 5% on bicycles, to bring down cost and encourage more and more people to take to their use. This will not only increase demand, but also improve tax collection,” said Shri Pankaj Munjal, CMD, Hero Cycles.

India’s bicycle ownership stands at 11 crores, with majority of these being used by people in the lower income groups for commuting. In addition, the entire industry employs a 1 million workforce. The industry, with Hero Cycles is actively taking the lead and is determined to make the humble bicycle a tool for creating a cleaner environment, productive and healthy work force and empower the girl child to be independent and self reliant.

Indian Idol 9 Contestants seek divine blessing in Mumbai!

 

On the occasion of Mahashivratri, Indian Idol 9 contestants LV Revanth, Mohit Chopra & Khuda Baksh reached Sanyas Ashram, Vile Parle west, to seek divine blessings.

 

The contestants prayed to the almighty and also made offerings of milk and bael leaves. The contestants also made a special offering to lord Shiva and that was of devotional songs.

 

It was a spiritual moment for all as the music elevated the feeling of peace and tranquility for all those present.

Mumbai guy wins  Road to WrestleMania Contest at Oberoi Mall

The winner Manan Sanghvi makes his way to WWE WrestleMania finals at Orlando

 

Mumbai, 23rd Feb, 2017: Manan Sanghvi, a 17 year old young lad of Mumbai won the ticket to Road to WrestleMania organised at Oberoi mall. He also won an all sponsored trip to Orlando to watch the royal rumble, WrestleMania 33 to be held at Florida’s Orlando Citrus bowl on April 2, 2017 + a cash prize of ₹ 30,000. Alongside the other winners were Prince Patra who stood as the 1st runner up where as the second runner up was Satyam Prusti.

 

 

The two day event saw the best of best players coming from across cities to play against each other to win the glorious ticket to watch the WrestleMania 33 live. From over 1000+ gamers who registered for the tournament, only 64 were qualified to play at the finals. All the players fiercely competed to be able to reach to the finals also the enthusiasm among all the participants was immense.

 

Manan Sanghvi, the tournament’s finale winner, who is also currently appearing his 12th board exams said, “I am very excited on wining this tournament. My board exams are almost 8 days away, but I have no fear because I wanted to win this so desperately. I am now delighted, with all my heart’s content and ready to peacefully prepare for my exams”

A Winter Wedding For Aashka & Brent

 

Actress Aashka Goradia who recently got engaged this past Christmas to boyfriend Brent Goble is all set to tie the knot this year.  We hear that the couple has decided to have an Indian winter wedding by the end of this year.  When we quizzed Aashka she confirmed saying, “We wanted to get married in India and the winters in our country are lovely.  Brent’s entire family will be flying down from the US to be with us on this special day.  December is a special month for us as that’s when Brent had popped the question and hence we zeroed in on December for our wedding as well.”  Quiz the actress about whether it will be a traditional Indian wedding and she says, “Well of course.  Brent and his family love the Indian culture and hence we have decided to get married here.  The preparations have already started and both our families are extremely excited and looking forward to the special day.”   344a3092

In an interesting revelation, Bollywood actor Govinda’s wife has had everyone present on the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show in splits. As she recently made an appearance with her husband Govinda in the show, they revealed the funniest of moments of their life. During one of the conversations in the show, Sunita went on to mention that she wanted a handsome son like Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra.

 

While the tinseltown is known for handsome heroes and gorgeous actresses, Navjot Singh Sidhu started praising Govinda’s son Yashwardhan’s look who is reportedly set to enter Bollywood. It is during this conversation that Sunita spilled the beans of having Big B and Dharmendra’s pictures by her side to have a good looking son just like them.

 

A source from the set informs, “Sunita mentioned that when she was pregnant, she used to have the pictures of the two Bollywood stars. Govinda, Kapil Sharma, Sidhu and everyone present on set could not hold their laughter.”
